Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Paris

The Short Version

I am Marie Dupont based in Paris, and I've spent the past few years documenting my experiences at fitness clubs across France.

This site came about after growing tired of selecting gyms from ads and vague advice, only to find the reality didn't match expectations. I wanted straight, honest details about what these places were really like. When I couldn't find that, I chose to build it.

Over a dozen Gyms Visited

More than 200 Classes Attended

How This Started

My fitness routine began at a small club near 12 Rue de la Santé in Paris. It wasn’t perfect, but it was accessible, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that place closed, I saw how rapidly the fitness scene in France was changing. New clubs opened, new concepts emerged, and marketing grew louder than the actual member experience.

I began trying different gyms and classes, jotting notes after every visit. Gradually those notes became this site, created to help others make better-informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here comes from actual visits and time spent inside the club. I focus on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I usually:

  • Invest enough time to understand routines, peak times, and patterns
  • Visit on various days and different times
  • Try multiple training formats and instructors
  • Use facilities regularly to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with other members about what stays consistent and what doesn't
  • Take notes immediately after each visit

I revise reviews when significant changes occur: renovations, management changes, price adjustments, or new facilities. Each article displays its last update date so you know how current the information remains.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with clear boundaries and a calm vibe?

Equipment quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there sufficient variety? Are repairs prompt?

Crowd management: Is it possible to train at your preferred times without constant queues?

Clean facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously management takes the member experience.

Honest membership practices: Transparent pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I reside and work in Paris. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and make them more transparent for those seeking the right environment.
